8 Free Yoga and Pilates Classes in Ottawa This Summer

This time of year is perfect for trying out new things, especially if they're free. This city is constantly buzzing with new and interesting fitness classes, and this summer, there are plenty of free yoga and Pilates classes in Ottawa.


If you feel like getting your exercise on, check out our recommendations below!


Please note that all classes require you to bring your own mat and water bottle.

📍 Ottawa City Hall - Lisgar Field (110 Laurier Ave. W)

📅 July 29 at 12:00 p.m.

With instructors provided by popular yoga places like City of OM, Yogatown, and 24hr Yogapalooza, the free classes at City Hall are not something to miss! Whether you're a beginner or a total pro, these classes are an excellent way to teach you some gentle poses, classic breathing techniques, and guided meditation.


These have taken place on every Tuesday throughout June and July, so be sure to catch the last scheduled class on July 29 at 12:00 p.m. We think it's the perfect way to spend a lunch break!

A popular Ottawa tradition has made its return! Swing by Parliament Hill on Wednesday afternoons for an hour of yoga by Elevate Yoga. There is no schedule confirmed yet for August 2025, but you can catch free, beginner-friendly yoga classes here on July 23 and 30.

Enjoy an outdoor all-levels Hatha Yoga class at Pushman Park on a weekly basis, thanks to the South Keys Greenboro Community Association and Yoga Kāla. Each class is different but remains welcoming to everyone, no matter your experience with yoga.


Please bring your own mat—you are also encouraged you bring water, a towel, and any other props you may like to incorporate into your practice!

Grab your mat and water bottle and get ready for a beautiful night of yoga under the stars. Join instructor Dana for an all-levels yoga practice compiled of gentle movements, stretching, and postures.


With over 10 years of experience in teaching yoga, you're sure to have a wonderful time learning from a seasoned instructor.

Grab a water bottle and roll out your mat on Parliament Hill to feel the burn at a free class hosted by Sōma Pilates! All classes are beginner-friendly but will have you feeling hot once the hour is up.

If Full Moon Yoga isn't your jam or just doesn't align with your schedule, you can enjoy Pilates at Lansdowne Park this August! Spend your Saturday morning stretching and feeling the burn with a classic Pilates class that's completely free.


📍 The Yard at Tanger (8555 Campeau Dr.)

📅 Sunday Zumba at 11:30 a.m. and Tuesday Yoga at 6:00 p.m. until Sept. 14

If you live in Kanata or don't mind the drive, Tanger Ottawa's Summer Fitness Series is an awesome option for you. You can attend free Zumba classes every Sunday at 11:30 a.m. or free yoga classes every Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. until September 14.

📍 Robert Simpson Park (400 John St. N, Arnprior)

📅 Wednesdays from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. until Sept. 24

Visit the beautiful small town of Arnprior and partake in an evening of free yoga with Yoga in the Park! Though it's not in Central Ottawa, these classes are a 20-minute drive from Kanata or 40 minutes from Downtown Ottawa, right on the beach of Robert Simpson Park. Not only do yoga classes happen here, but Pilates is also incorporated into practice by some instructors!


Take a moment away from the bustle of the city and enjoy a quiet evening by the water.
