Kanata's restaurant scene is on the rise, and the newest gem to this vibrant community is nothing short of exciting. Known for redefining breakfast and brunch in Québec, this renowned eatery, Allô Mon Coco, is bringing its creativity to Kanata.
Location: Allô Mon Coco, 848 March Rd. Kanata, ON
Craving: Sweet and Savoury
Drinks: $6.45
Food: $19.45
Customer Service: 5/5
As a fellow Kanata resident, it’s only right to visit all of the gems that make their way to this end of the city. And I couldn’t resist documenting what makes this innovative dining experience so special.
The Space: Where Comfort Meets Style
From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by a warm, inviting interior. Soft pink seating, accent blue booths, elegant lighting and touches of greenery create a vibrant, natural atmosphere. Whether you’re dropping by for a quick coffee, a casual catch-up or enjoying a leisurely brunch with the girls, the mix of bar and booth seating caters to all occasions where comfort meets style.
But what truly sets this location apart is its exceptional management. During our visit, we had the pleasure of meeting Julie Roy, the manager who embodies the restaurant's commitment to outstanding service. Personable, attentive, and genuinely passionate about creating a welcoming dining experience.
The Menu: Magic Pistachio Brunch in Kanata
Pistachio Affogato - A Coffee Lover's Dream

Priced at $6.45, the Pistachio Affogato is a revelation. A scoop of creamy ice cream “drowns” in perfectly hot espresso, with layers of delicious pistachio cream, and a sprinkle of crushed pistachios, adding texture and flavour.
For those who might not know, Affogato means “drowned” in Italian. It’s a dessert consisting of a scoop of ice cream or gelato topped with hot espresso, and that’s what you get when you order the Pistachio Affogato.
Even for someone who isn't typically a coffee enthusiast, this drink is completely captivating. It's a harmonious blend that balances coffee's flavour with delightful sweetness–ideal for both coffee lovers and occasional dabblers (like me).
Creamy Pistachio Blueberry Toast - A Symphony of Flavour
If I can entice you to try anything from the pistachio menu, I can promise that you won’t be disappointed with this choice! It’s toasted sourdough with pistachio cream, cottage cheese, fresh blueberries, and a drizzle of blueberry sauce.
This isn’t generally a dish I would pick for myself, but I was easily converted by this perfect flavour combination. Sweet, salty and creamy—each component complements the others beautifully.
I didn’t expect to love it as much as I did, but it's a dish I'd gladly order again in a heartbeat.
Pistachio Fusion Brunch - The Best of Both Worlds

After a hard-to-beat first act, up next was the Pistachio Fusion Brunch. If you like balanced meals, this is it. The sourdough French toast, while delightfully decadent, is almost overwhelmingly sweet on its own. But here's where the dish truly shines, it is brilliantly balanced by savoury elements—two perfectly cooked eggs, a choice of meat, and crispy potatoes.
I’ll admit, after the Pistachio Blueberry Toast, this dish felt like a sugar bomb; I’d say my taste buds most likely needed a reset between these flavours. Luckily those savoury elements saved the dish!
It’s definitely one I would recommend if you find yourself debating between a sweet or savoury meal.
Final Thoughts
Whether you're a pistachio lover, a brunch enthusiast, or simply someone who appreciates carefully crafted dishes, Allô Mon Coco’s newest menu has something special to offer. With two distinctive dishes and a beverage telling a unique flavourful story, this pistachio brunch in Kanata is a must-visit location.
The steady flow of customers during our visit on a Wednesday morning is a testament to the restaurant's growing popularity and Julie Roy's exceptional leadership. Allô Mon Coco continues to demonstrate its commitment to bringing innovative, high-quality breakfast and brunch experiences to new neighbourhoods.
Pro tip: Save room for the Pistachio Affogato, trust me, you won’t want to miss it!
